WELSH VAULTING CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION held 24th July 2010The Venus Vaulters went to Wales for this competition and did very well. in the events they entered. Tilly Gottschald on Red came first in the individual pre novice event, Lydia Ball and Laura Lancaster came first in the pairs on Red, with Tilly and Hannah Lancaster coming second. The team event Entertain the Audience was won by the Venus Vaulters on Captain Morgan. The Venus Vaulters keep their horse Herbie at Ridgewood and practise most Sundays 4.30-6.30pm. They are raising funds to help send the English Equestrian Vaulting Squad to Kentucky this October, Sara Shortland, who goes to Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth, is a member of the Squad and the Venus Vaulters. Suzi Shortland is coach to the Venus Vaulters.
