Handling, Looking After and then Riding for 1 hour in the morning and 1½ hours in the afternoon finishing with a competition and rosettes and handouts to help you remember what you have achieved.  These sessions can be tailored to your needs so please say what you want to learn about when booking in Beth for example asked for an introduction to Natural Horsemanship.  It is an excellent  introduction to horses for beginners so that you can learn how to prepare and handle your horse ready for your first riding lesson.

Steve who is based locally in Wirksworth came to Ridgewood Equestrian Centre on Thursday, 20th August and gave a brilliant demonstration and explanation of Osteopathy using two of our Riding School Horses Bonnie and Bronnie, and then worked with George one of our livery horses. •  6 WEEK COURSE  -  The City & Guilds NPTC Safety with Horses, reduces the chance of unnecessary personal injury to individuals, others and horses.  It is a nationally recognised qualification and provides evidence towards relevant units in National or Scottish Vocational Qualifications.   Minimum age16 years.

• Riding Lessons- minimum age 4 years, all levels.   There are some after school lessons available for beginners and the more advanced.  Lessons after school start at 4.00 pm.  Lessons & hacks can also be booked during the day Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.  You can also book a hack during the morning or early afternoon on Tuesdays, lessons start after school on Tuesdays.   We do have a weight limit of 12 stone 7lbs.   If this is a problem have you considered learning to long rein, lunge, clip or how to care for your own equine then speak to us on  01629824914.    Alternatively try carriage driving lessons with  Araslea Shires at the next drive down Higg Lane below our drive.
